Exquisite Pieces Created by a Master Craftsman PDF Print E-mail

Master craftsman and established wood scientist, Albin Baecker, has spent 30 years in academic research and practical field work into the study and science of wood.  His attention now turns to trophy furniture - exquisite pieces resulting from hunting safaris in Southern Africa, producing not only a unique piece of furniture, but a reminder of a game safari set in the heart of Africa.

Albin Baecker is now at the forefront of the new age in the creation of unique and exquisite pieces of furniture. These commissions are unique in the sense that the person for whom the piece is created, is involved in the history of the piece created.

During the client's hunting safari, trophy material is also selected to be included in the creation of the piece of furniture. This could be ivory for carved fittings, buffalo hide for desktops, etc.mndoni-desk.jpg

The creation of each piece is photographically recorded and certified by Albin Baecker personally, resulting in a complete history of the piece from design to completion.desk-section.jpg

Each piece is unique, there being no other like it in existence. It is worthy of display, not only in the client's home, but in international furniture exhibitions.

Another unique feature of each piece is the hidden compartments built into each piece of trophy furniture and known only to the manufacturer and the owner.

Such a compartment can contain another exquisite piece for which Southern Africa is famous - jewellery.ring_in_a_box.jpg

Hidden in the recesses of the secret compartments,  this is a beautiful surprise and a valued gift for the ladies!

From a passion for excellence at an early age, to a Ph.D in Wood Science, Albin Baecker has acquired a deep insight into wood science that master craftsmanship requires. From the forest to the laboratory, his studies include furniture design and wood preservation.

Customers who commission a major piece by Albin Baecker can be assured of his exclusive attention to the task, as he only undertakes to create on piece at a time.

These become heirlooms of the future, drawing on knowledge and experience of the past, to be valued and admired for centuries to come.
