Biotrans scientists have developed and patented Field Liners. A simple and elegant solution that prevents the failure of both untreated and preserved poles in soil. Acting as an inert physical barrier, they prevent pole failure and protect the environment.
Four years after installing poles with Field Liners on an electrical distribution line, no leaching of creosote or microbial decay was found. However, as expected, the Field Liners caused the creosote to be concentrated in the pole sub-soil regions, providing added protection. (a case study)
In contrast, H4 poles without Field Liners leached their creosote, leaving them substandard at H3
